ISLAMIC REPUBLIC’S EFFORTS TO CHANGE THE DEMOGRAPHIC STRUCTURE OF TURKMENSAHRA

Turkmen people have to be more sensitive towards very dangerous projects put into practice in Turkmensahra because the Islamic Republic is making a great effort to erase the names of Turkmens and Turkmensahra in the geography which is called Iran.

The culture, language, custom and traditions of this nation; namely Turkmen language, sect and traditional clothes are subjected to major attacks of the Mullah regime. The unemployment rate in Turkmensahra is 30%,  where economy and industry does not exist and investment in industry is secretly banned, and this rate reaches up to 50% among the youth.

It is banned to speak and to receive education in the Turkmen language. Turkmens are deprived of choosing a Turkmen name to their children. Former city and village names in Turkmen are being changed into Farsi. All the madrasahs in Turkmensahra are governed by Northern Supreme Islamic Center, in other words by the Shiites. Turkmen fishermen are being massacred. The land of Turkmens are being forcefully usurped and granted to immigrants.

The Islamic Republic’s latest plan to erase the names of Turkmens is to change the political and social structure of Turkmensahra. At present this plan is being carried out in two ways:

1- ) The Islamic Republic is changing the geographical borders of the districts of Turkmensahra to eliminate the political influence of the Turkmens in Iran and to prevent them from sending their MPs to the Majlis.

Previously they prevented Turkmens from sending their two MPs to the Majlis from Gonbad-e Kavoos district, where the population is on the rise, by separating Ramian and Azadshahr cities from Gonbad and giving a special MP quota for these cities.

Today Gonbad’s population has reached a number which will allow electing two MPs once again. The Islamic Republic is making efforts to connect the Turkmen villages, of which the population exceeds two thousand, to Ramian, Minoudasht and Azadshahr districts and Maravah Tappeh city. Therefore, the Islamic Republic is planning to decrease the population of the center of Turkmensahra, which is Gonbad.

Previously they did just the opposite in Gorgan and Aq Qala, where the population was on the rise, and separated Aq Qala from Gorgan to allow both of the MPs to be elected from Gorgan.

The Islamic Republic saw in the previous term that if they hadn’t cheated in the elections and in the appointments, Turkmens would have had the power to send two MPs from Gorgan and Aq Qala.

If the regime preserves its current geographical border and does not cheat in the elections, 6 out of 7 MPs will have to be Turkmen.

2- ) A while ago the Islamic Republic put a very sneaky plan into practice. As requested by the President, an instruction is sent to the Mullah regime in Turkmensahra, which is approved by the Ministry of Intelligence, indicating that tens of thousands of Kurdish immigrants who live in the Khorasan region will be settled in the region between Turkmen cities and Turkmenistan in the north of Turkmensahra.

The necessary infrastructure is prepared. The territories, which Turkmens have inherited from their ancestors, are usurped by the Administration of Natural Resources in order to allow the Shiite Zaboulis who have been settled in the region previously and the Shiite Kurds in northern Khorasan to apply pressure on the Turkmens. The map of this region has been surveyed once again. Moreover, settlement areas in the region have been allocated to the Kurds. On the other hand, these nomad Kurds, who earn their living by stockbreeding, are armed by the regime of the Islamic Republic. They are playing a major role also in drug transfers in northeastern provinces.

Turkmens do not have any religious fanaticism other than preserving their own language, race and sect. The Turkmen in Turkmensahra do not have any problems with the Shiite Persians and Azerbaijani Turks, who are settled in this region and become a part of the population. They share their happiness and their grievances. This is an indication of tolerance and hospitality of the Turkmens.

However, in case the Islamic Republic puts their sneaky plans into practice in the region, the Turkmens will rise and will start a major and never ending fight.

Turkmen people protected Turkmensahra from the invasion of the fascist central government and Russians because Turkmensahra have always belonged to Turkmen throughout the history. It won’t take long for the Turkmens to react.

As the Turkmensahra Liberation Organization we strongly warn the State of the Islamic Republic not to trigger the fuse of the war in the region because Turkmens made their enemies taste the fist of Seljuks in the history. The new generation of Turkmens knows very well how to punish the tyrants and the attackers.
